Hello 2017!
This weeks new beer:
We once again collaborated with the Chefs of the Coastal Bend (the master minds behind the original Diwali beer and our upcoming food and beer pairing #3) to create a Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout. We started with a Milk Stout base beer and proceeded to add Cinnamon, ancho peppers, cayenne, raisins, vanilla and cacao nibs. What a great combination it came out to be. The aroma from the Cinnamon mixed with the chocolate, and slight coffee from the Milk Stout base is rounded out with a slight vanilla and raison aroma into a fun and complex smell. Onto the flavor! A thick mouthfeel with lots of chocolate, cinnamon and ancho pepper flavor, with a slightly sweet and spicy flavor that lingers for a little while.
35 IBU, 45 SRM, 5.6% ABV
